About Me

Claire obtained her Bachelor degree of Business Administration from National Taiwan University, majoring in Marketing Management and Human Resource Management and minoring in Chinese Literature. She later received her Master’s degree of Law from National Taiwan University Graduate Institute of Interdisciplinary Legal Studies. While she was still a graduate student, she passed the Taiwan bar examination and obtained certifications in Corporate and Financial Law, as well as Civil Procedure Law.

Claire has been in practice since 2023. During her practice, she has supported partners of Chen & Chang, Attorneys-at-Law, in various local dispute resolution, international arbitration and litigation cases. She has also been actively involved in assisting Mainland China clients in conducting due diligence on target companies in Taiwan and facilitating foreign direct investment as well as cross-border transactions. She is experienced in assisting clients with reviewing transaction documents, conducting due diligence, negotiating with Taiwan regulatory authorities, and conducting legal research on civil and commercial contract law.

  • Assisted the partners of Chen & Chang in providing legal services to an international insurance company in resolving reinsurance disputes with a Taiwanese insurance company.

  • Provided legal services to a wholly owned subsidiary of a Taiwan listed company in resolving disputes with its parent company and another affiliate company arising from a tripartite lease agreement.

  • Assisted a subsidiary of a Taiwan listed company in the energy technology service business in resolving disputes with a Taiwan solar energy developer arising from the termination of several service contracts in regard of a fish and electricity symbiosis project.

  • Advised a Taiwan subsidiary of a Singaporean energy company in resolving disputes with a Taiwanese contractor arising from a turnkey contract of UHV substation of a power plant.

  • Assisted a Taiwan OTC company in resolving disputes with an international wind turbine supplier arising from a supply agreement.

  • Assisted the managing partner of Chen & Chang in acting as a legal expert in a Federal Court of Australia (FCA) litigation regarding disputes arising from a Master General Agency License Agreement between an Australian leading bubble tea company and a Taiwan OTC chain dining business company.

  • Assisted the managing partner of Chen & Chang in acting as a legal expert in an ICC arbitration (consolidated from two ICC arbitrations) seated in Singapore (conducted in English) regarding disputes arising from Joint Development Agreements for the development of several offshore wind farms in Taiwan between a major Taiwan offshore wind farm developer group and a European offshore wind farm developer group.

  • Assisted partners of Chen & Chang in assisting a Taiwan citizen in Taiwan court proceedings initiated by an American company against a Cayman company and the Taiwan citizen regarding recognition of an ICDR award rendered in Los Angeles awarding more than twenty million dollars (USD).

  • Assisted Baozun E-Commerce Co. Ltd. in closing related works in regard of its acquisition of Gap's business in Greater China.

  • Assisted RB & Manon Business Co., Ltd., a Hong Kong-based company in establishing a branch office in Taiwan.

  • Assisted Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. in setting up a joint venture in mainland China with Photronics, Inc.

  • Assisted partners of Chen & Chang in acting for Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei City Government (as independent intervenor) to participate in the Supreme Administrative Court proceedings regarding an appeal filed by 22 individuals and obtaining a judgment favorable to our client.

  • Assisted partners of Chen & Chang in acting for Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei City Government (as independent intervenor) to participate in the Supreme Administrative Court proceedings regarding an appeal filed by 19 private companies and obtaining a judgment favorable to our client.

  • Assisted partners of Chen & Chang in acting for Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei City Government (as independent intervenor) to participate in the Taipei High Administrative Court proceedings regarding a petition for provisional injunction lodged by 22 individuals.

2023

Associate, Chen & Chang, Attorneys-at-Law

After completing her internship at Chen & Chang, Claire continued as a fully qualified attorney. During her practice, Claire has been involved in various projects, including international arbitration and cross-border investments. In addition to collecting and sorting materials, she has been involved in preparing certain documentation and has assisted in negotiations with Taiwanese regulatory authorities. Furthermore, Claire has worked alongside our partners to represent our clients in civil and administrative proceedings.

2023

LL.M., National Taiwan University

While she was still a graduate student, Claire passed the Taiwan bar examination and obtained certifications in Corporate and Financial Law, as well as Civil Procedure Law. She also participated in the 10th Asia-Pacific M&A Moot Competition, where her team won the championship for the Best Team, and she received the Best Player Award as an individual.

Under the supervision of Professor Kevin Chien-Chang Wu, she worked as a research assistant on the project "Sciences of Mind, Law and Multilevel Governance Policy", responsible for compiling various versions of the Mental Health Law and the content of the various revisions and public hearings to propose future legislative directions.

Claire graduated with a major in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing Management and Human Resources Management, and minoring in Chinese Literature. She had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program at the School of Economics and Business, University of Navarra, Spain. Those experiences inspired her to pursue a dual interest in both business and law, leading to her successful entry into the Graduate Institute of Interdisciplinary Legal Studies of National Taiwan University following her undergraduate graduation.

Responsible for analyzing member behavior and the development of digital financial applications of competitor companies, and providing directions for improving the functions and interfaces of the App. Also participated in business development projects in collaboration with NBA, United Daily News, Qatar Airways, and FunNow.

Responsible for business development, achieving a 40% average monthly growth rate. Also designed Facebook Chatbot marketing plans for several brands, including Rakuten Kobo, Porsche, Bosch, O'right, Cathay Bank, and Carrefour.
