On 17 July 2024, Chen & Chang, Attorneys-at-Law (“Chen & Chang”) had the pleasure of co-hosting “Your Key to the World: ICC” with the ADR Committee of Taiwan Bar Association and the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (“ICC YAAF”). From 26 to 28 June this year, ICC held the 9th ICC Asia Pacific Conference on International Arbitration series events in Singapore. Chen & Chang fully sponsored Helena Chen and Claire Liu to join the delegation headed by the President of Taiwan Bar Association Dagmar Yu to attend those events.
Following President Yu’s opening remarks, our partner Alison Chang (Vice Chair, ADR Committee of Taiwan Bar Association; North Asia Representative, ICC YAAF) smoothly moderated a panel of six speakers, i.e. six young lawyers in the delegation, who generously shared their personal experiences, including their preparations, the latest trends and knowledge in international arbitration learned from those events, the distinctive features of the training and conferences observed, interactions with international legal practitioners, and the impact of this overseas trip. Our associate Claire Liu’s outstanding presentation was highly praised. We were also honored to invite Chengkai Wang, Esq. to conclude the sharing session.
Last, our managing partner Helena Chen C.Arb delivered the closing remarks. Helena expressed her willingness to walk with the younger practitioners into the world and to better prepare ourselves. She also announced that Attorneys Academy of Taiwan Bar Association will offer a course on “Introduction to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)” to further sharpen its members’ skills in dealing with international affairs and strengthen their legal capabilities in ADR, so as to enhance their global competitiveness and enable them to embrace blue ocean strategy.
More than 70 participants attended online or in person.
